Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has demanded that all airline tickets for domestic flights be written in Russian and not in English, a spokeswoman told RIA Novosti on Friday.

MOSCOW, August 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has demanded that all airline tickets for domestic flights be written in Russian and not in English, a spokeswoman told RIA Novosti on Friday.

Marina Gridnyova said the custom of issuing tickets using English and Latin letters breaches federal laws in regard to the Russian language and consumer rights.

Almost all of Russia's domestic airlines print tickets and e-tickets strictly in English, which violates Russian consumers' rights when trying to read the ticket, Gridnyova said.

The Prosecutor General's Office has demanded that tickets show the destination, date, flight number, tariffs, and passengers' names in Russian.

Three airlines, Aeroflot, RusAir and VIM-AVIA, have already found a compromise and have started issuing bilingual airline tickets.
