Synchronized swimmers bring Russia first gold at world event

Russia's synchronized swimmers have won the gold medal in the team technical event at the World Championships in Rome.

MOSCOW, July 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's synchronized swimmers have won the gold medal in the team technical event at the World Championships in Rome.

The eight-woman team comprising Daria Korobova, Anna Nasekina, Aleksandra Pashkevich, Victoria Shestakovich, Alla Shishkina, Elizaveta Stepanova, Anzhelika Timanina and Sofia Volkova scored a total of 98.833 points. The second place went to Spain (97.833 points) and the third to China (96.667 points).

Russia won the technical team title at the World Championships for the second time in a row.
