TEL AVIV, July 12 (RIA Novosti) - A female Russian tourist died during a hiking expedition in southern Israel, the Kol Israel radio station said on Sunday.
The tragedy occurred on Saturday in the Ein Gedi nature reserve on the shore of the Dead Sea, when a 50-year-old tourist swerved off the tourist path and fell from a cliff, the radio station said.
The tourist's 16-year-old daughter was evacuated by rescuers to a Jerusalem hospital in the condition of dehydration and psychological shock, the radio station said.
The Israeli Y net web portal reported that the dead female tourist was the wife of a Russian judoist who had come to Israel for participation in the Maccabiah Jewish Games.
