A Polish postman who had sought to change his name to James Bond has been arrested on suspicion of hacking to death his former German teacher, Poland's TVN24 said on Tuesday.

MOSCOW, June 30 (RIA Novosti) - A Polish postman who had sought to change his name to James Bond has been arrested on suspicion of hacking to death his former German teacher, Poland's TVN24 said on Tuesday.

Rafal Jarosinski, from the central Polish town of Radomsko, who is also a computer science student, sought to change his name to James Bond to get a new life at the start of 2009.

In an interview with the television channel on Monday, a police officer said Jarosinski had been wanted nationwide.

According to investigators, the man killed his former German teacher at her flat with an axe, also injuring the victim's mother, aged 78.

The suspect had been threatening to kill the 52-year-old school teacher for several months, investigators said.

In early June a court determined that Jarosinski was insane on the basis of psychological tests, and ruled that the young man should be sent to a mental hospital. However, Jarosinski contested the decision, and did not go to the clinic.

The suspect has already been taken to Radomsko. If found guilty, he could receive a life sentence.

The investigation is ongoing.
