MOSCOW, May 30 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian opposition leader, Eduard Limonov of the Other Russia coalition, said a bomb exploded in his car on Saturday, but Moscow police are denying the claims that the vehicle belonged to him.

"The car was outside the window," Limonov said, adding that when his driver got in, "there was an explosion." "The door was open, the driver just fell out of the car, he received burns."

But police said: "At about 10:20 Moscow time a Volga car caught fire on 3rd Frunzenskaya Street [southwest Moscow], however the car was registered in the name of another person, and the complaint was also submitted by another person."

A spokesman said the car caught fire, when the driver started the engine and that the blaze had been put out by firefighters who attended the scene. "It does not even smell of Limonov here," he added.
