MOSCOW, May 13 (RIA Novosti) - An unidentified gunman killed two Azerbaijani nationals at a marketplace in eastern Moscow on Wednesday evening, a police source said.
"A man opened fire with a Kalashnikov assault rifle on two citizens of Azerbaijan at the Vernisazh marketplace on the Izmailovo Highway. Both victims died from sustained wounds," the source said.
The assailant fled the scene, he added.
Moscow police have launched an investigation into the crime. The scene has been cordoned off, and operatives are gathering evidence and questioning witnesses.
