MOSCOW, March 9 (RIA Novosti) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has been unanimously reelected to the country's parliament with 100% voter turnout, local media said Monday.

North Korea held a parliamentary election on Sunday. The North Korean parliament is unicameral and is the country's supreme state power body in line with its constitution.

The Korean Central News Agency said the result was the expression of absolute support to and confidence in Kim Jong-il by all servicemen and civilians.

South Korean news agency Yonhap reported Sunday that the elections to the Supreme People's Assembly were the first since Kim Jong-Il reportedly suffered a stroke last summer.

The elections were initially scheduled for last year but were postponed presumably over Kim's illness.

The state of Kim's health has caused widespread alarm, as he has not named a successor to lead the communist state, which has the world's fourth-largest army and carried out a nuclear-bomb test in 2006.
