"The Russian foreign minister will visit the state of Israel, Palestinian territories, the Arab republic of Egypt, the sultanate of Oman and the kingdom of Bahrain on February 15-19," the ministry said in a statement on its website, adding that the resumption of the peace process in the Middle East would be a priority.
The Russian top diplomat met with top EU foreign policy officials earlier in the day to discuss, among other things, Middle East conflict settlement.
"We will expect the new Israeli government to be committed to the agreements which were concluded earlier...in Annapolis," Lavrov told reporters following the talks.
The EU was represented by Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg, whose country holds the European Union's rotating presidency, Carl Bildt, his counterpart from Sweden, which takes over the presidency on June 1, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana and EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner.
The talks also focused on European security, anti-piracy operations and Russia's participation in international peacekeeping operations.
