TBILISI, December 25 (RIA Novosti) - Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has hit Prime Minister Grigol Mgaloblishvili in the face and thrown a phone at him, the Alia daily reported on Thursday, citing an unnamed source.
The presidential press service slammed the report as "complete nonsense that deserves no comment."
The paper gave no reasons for the incident, which it said took place last week.
Mgaloblishvili reportedly submitted his resignation soon after the incident, but the president refused to accept it.
