MOSCOW, November 1 (RIA Novosti) - According to the results of a public opinion survey released on Saturday, 29% of Russians support neither Democrat Barack Obama, nor his opponent John McCain in the race for the U.S. presidency.
The Levada Center survey said that of the 1,011 Russians polled in 8 major Russian cities on October 24-29, another 29% were unable to give an answer to the question.
Of those respondents who did express a reference, 27% said that they would like to see Obama, who is bidding to become the first black president in the history of the U.S., in the White House.
McCain was backed by 15% of respondents.
Asked under which U.S. president Russia-U.S. relations were the best, 28% of the respondents named Bill Clinton, 11% said George Bush Sr., and 10% said Ronald Reagan. Eight percent named the current president, George Bush Jr.
The margin of error was 3%.
