Russian women settle for silver in Olympic handball final

MOSCOW, August 23 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's women's handball team was forced to settle for silver Saturday after rivals Norway won the Olympic final in Beijing.

Russia defeated Norway in the 2007 World Championships, but this time fell 34-27.

Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth top scored with 10 goals for Norway while Russia's top scorer Irina Bliznova fired in six goals.

South Korea won the bronze, beating Hungary in the playoff.
