MOSCOW, July 2 (RIA Novosti) - Swiss company Noga has appealed rulings by French courts to unfreeze Russian accounts held in France, a source in the Russian Finance Ministry said Wednesday.

"Noga has appealed the court rulings to unfreeze the Russian institutions' accounts," the source said, specifying that a number of separate legal applications had been filed. "One of the applications concerns RIA Novosti's account, others, for example, the Bank of Russia."

The source said preliminary hearings had been set for late July-early October.

The source also said that a damage claim filed by Russia against Noga was set to be heard on September 10 in France.

The French accounts of Russian organizations, including Russia's Central Bank and news agency RIA Novosti, were frozen in January over a 49 million-euro ($75 million) claim, filed by Noga for outstanding debts under barter oil deals struck with Russia's government in the early 1990s.

The Finance Ministry said in May the Russian government would sue Swiss trader Noga for 1 million euros ($1.6 million) following the seizure of Russian assets in France.
