MOSCOW, 12 June (RIA Novosti) - Guus Hiddink, the Russian soccer team's Dutch trainer, has told his players to forget about their 4-1 defeat to Spain and focus on making it past the group stage of Euro-2008, the team captain said.

Midfielder Sergei Semak said that after Thursday's match, "Guus said we have to quickly forget about that result. There will be absolutely no changes to training - we will train in the same way as before."

Russia face title holders Greece on June 14 and Sweden on June 18. With one match played, Russia sit in fourth place in Group D.

Semak said that in the match against Spain, Russia suffered from a lack of confidence.

"We made individual mistakes. It's not so much that Spain defeated us as that we allowed ourselves to be defeated," he said.

Hiddink's Russian side is hoping to make history by making it past the group stage of a major tournament for the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
