GAZA, May 30 (RIA Novosti) - Israel Defense Forces have injured eight Palestinians near the Sufa crossing in the Gaza Strip, Al-Aqsa TV said on Friday.
Al-Aqsa said the incident took place as thousands of Hamas supporters took part in a demonstration organized by the movement in protest at the embargo imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip.
Palestinians said IDF troops opened fire as the protestors approached the crossing.
The IDF said the soldiers only used tear gas and fired warning shots against the protestors to stop them from crossing into Israel through the border fence.
