MOSCOW, May 3 (RIA Novosti) - Police have identified the man who was shot dead in the north of the Russian capital on Saturday. "This is a Daghestani native. His name has not been made public in the interest of the investigation," a police source said.
The source said two perpetrators in a Mazda 3 car had approached the Daghestani and opened fire on him. When he tried to escape, they ran over him.
"During the shootout, a bullet hit the car's gasoline tank and the car caught fire. The killers left weapons inside the car and fled, leaving their victim under the car," the source said.
Earlier it was reported that the killed male was sitting inside the Mazda and that after killing him, the perpetrators set it on fire.
A special plan has been employed to detain the attackers. Police will be guided by the description eyewitnesses submitted to them.
