Senior Ingush judge killed in North Caucasus

A senior judge of the Supreme Court in the North Caucasus Republic of Ingushetia has been killed in an attack by unidentified assailants, local police said on Sunday.
MOSCOW, April 13 (RIA Novosti) - A senior judge of the Supreme Court in the North Caucasus Republic of Ingushetia has been killed in an attack by unidentified assailants, local police said on Sunday.

Khasan Yandiyev, deputy chairman of Ingushetia's Supreme Court was killed in the city of Karabulak after unidentified assailants ambushed his Mercedes car and sprayed him with fire. The judge died of wounds at the scene of the incident, the police said.

Measures are under way to find the attackers, the police said.

In a similar attack, Anatoly Kyarov, who led the fight against organized crime in the North Caucasus Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, was killed along with another police officer when armed gunmen attacked the car, in which they were travelling in the republic's capital of Nalchik on January 13.
