MOSCOW, March 31 (RIA Novosti) - Traffic on one of the busiest streets in central Moscow was paralyzed on Monday morning after some 15 vehicles lost control and crashed on black ice, traffic police said.
There are no reports of injuries.
"Some two metric tons of water spilled onto the street from a street cleaning machine last night," police said. "The water then froze as temperatures went below zero in the night."
Police and rescue services are currently at the scene, and damaged cars are being removed from the crossroads of Olimpiisky Prospect and Ulitsa Durova, not far from the Garden Ring, Moscow's main ring road.
