Moscow's Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal rejected the Moscow Arbitration court's decision against the Axel Springer publishing house after Inteko head Yelena Baturina, Russia's richest woman, claimed the magazine misquoted her in an interview.
In December 2006, Forbes carried the construction magnate's picture on the front cover quoting her as saying: "I enjoy guaranteed protection." Following a complaint by the construction magnate, the publishing house agreed to correct the quote to "I enjoy guaranteed protection as an investor."
As a result Baturina's Inteko firm brought a libel action against the publishing house. The court awarded the Inteko head, whose worth is estimated at $2.3 billion, 106,500 rubles ($4,000) in damages in September 2007.
The court of appeal's ruling will be reviewed December 26.
