MOSCOW, November 8 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's three representatives in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup will be looking for their first wins in the competition on Thursday.

Lokomotiv Moscow, whose first match in the group stage was a thrilling 3-3 home draw against Atletico Madrid on October 25, travel to Scotland to take on Aberdeen.

Lokomotiv have a wealth of Scottish experience to draw on - their present manager Anatoly Byshovets was at one-time "football advisor" at Edinburgh club Hearts, and the Scottish international Garry O'Connor played for the club for two seasons. Aberdeen lost 3-0 to the Greek side Panathinakos in their first game in the group.

Zenit St. Petersburg, who drew 1-1 with AZ Alkmaar of the Netherlands in their first match, travel to Greece to take on Larissa, who lost 3-1 away to Everton in their opening group fixture. Zenit's players could be forgiven for having other things on their minds however - victory on Sunday in the Russian Premier League will give the club their first ever Russian championship title.

Spartak Moscow, currently in second place in the Russian league, are at home to German side Bayer Leverkusen, Champion League finalists in 2002. Bayer beat Toulouse 1-0 at home in their first match. Spartak are set to play their first game in the group stages.

In the UEFA Cup group stages, each team plays two matches at home and two away, with the top three going through to the knockout rounds, where they will be joined by the eight teams finishing in third place in their Champions League groups.

There is currently a real possibility that one of these sides could be current Russian champions, CSKA Moscow, winners of the tournament in 2005, currently in last place in their group.
