WASHINGTON, November 3 (RIA Novosti) - NASA astronaut Scott Parazynski has reached the damaged panel of the solar battery on the International Space Station after two hours of a dangerous spacewalk, a NASA spokeswoman said.
She said Parazynski had not started repairing the panel and was discussing further actions with experts on the Earth.
Another astronaut, Douglas Wheelock, who accompanied Parazynski in the spacewalk, is helping coordinate his work and other astronauts' manipulations inside the ISS. The astronauts are trying to choose a better position for Parazynski to repair the ripped panel, the NASA spokeswoman said.
Wheelock and Parazynski plan to use the space station's robotic arm to fix the damage.
