RIA Novosti editor-in-chief awarded Order of Honor

MOSCOW, October 9 (RIA Novosti) - RIA Novosti's editor-in-chief, Svetlana Mironyuk, was awarded on Tuesday an Order of Honor by President Vladimir Putin for her contribution to the media industry, at a ceremony in the Kremlin.

According to the presidential decree, Mironyuk was given the award "for services in developing modern information technology, and high achievements in the sphere of information and public relations."

Also on Tuesday, RIA Novosti was awarded an electronic media prize at a competition held by Infoforum, a Russian forum for information security.

Earlier this year, the agency's editor-in-chief won the national award "Media Manager of Russia 2007," in the category of New Media.
