Russian teams learn their opponents in UEFA Cup group stage

NYON (Switzerland), October 9 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's three representatives in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup learnt on Tuesday their opponents in the competition's group stage.

Russian league leaders Zenit St. Petersburg were drawn in Group A with English side Everton, German club Nuremburg, featuring Russian national team player Ivan Saenko, Holland's AZ Alkmaar, and Greek club Larissa, who upset English Premier League side Blackburn in the last round.

Moscow's Lokomotiv, in Group B, will face another Greek side, Panathinaikos, Spanish club Atletico Madrid, Copenhagen, and Scottish side Aberdeen.

In Group E, Spartak Moscow are to play top German side Bayer Leverkusen, Czech team Sparta Prague, French outfit Toulouse, and Swiss club FC Zurich.

Each team will play two matches at home and two away with the group stage starting on October 25, with the top three going through to the knockout rounds.
