MOSCOW, September 23 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Mikhail Youzhny defeated Germany's Philipp Petzschner 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the Davis Cup semi-final reverse singles in Moscow on Sunday, bringing the national teams level at 2-2.

The two players were called in as substitutes for Russia's No. 1 Nikolay Davydenko, and Germany's top player, Tommy Haas.

The tie will now go to a decisive fifth rubber between Igor Andreev and Philipp Kohlschreiber, with reigning champions Russia hoping to reach their second final in a row. The winners will meet the United States or Sweden in the November final.

On Friday Germany's Kohlschreiber beat world No. 4 Davydenko in a five-set match.

Russia won the Davis Cup in 2002 and 2006. Germany has not reached a final since 1993.
