SOCHI, September 22 (RIA Novosti) - New government structure will be announced in the beginning of next week, an acting deputy prime minister said Saturday.

"I think, in the beginning of next week you will be fully informed on this [new government] subject," Alexander Zhukov told a news conference in response to a question whether he and economics minister German Gref had received an invitation to join the new Cabinet.

Following the dismissal of the government last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin nominated Viktor Zubkov, a former financial watchdog chief, for the post of premier, simultaneously pushing for structural reform in the government.

Putin said Friday the new prime minister had submitted proposals on a new government structure.

The president criticized last week the three-level system, established in 2004 and consisting of ministries, regulating agencies, and bodies engaged in state services, as ineffective.

The government was dismissed three months before forthcoming parliamentary elections and six months before presidential polls.
