Russia takes 2 more golds at Wrestling World Championship in Baku

MOSCOW, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - Two Russian wrestlers won gold medals Wednesday in the freestyle event at the 2007 Wrestling World Championship in Azerbaijan, bringing the team's gold tally up to three.

In the under-55 kg (121 lbs) weight category Russia's Besik Kudukhov won gold after defeating Naranbaatar Baiaraa from Mongolia, while another Russian wrestler Mavlet Batirov defeated Anatoly Guidia of Bulgaria in the under-60 kg (132 lbs) weight category.

Russia's first gold in Baku was won on Tuesday by 2004 Athens Olympic Champion Alexei Mishin in the Greco-Roman event's under-84 kg (185 lbs) weight category.

The Wrestling World Championship has attracted 850 of the world's top wrestlers from over hundred countries to Azerbaijan's capital. The competition will determine the contestants for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
