Russia takes silver in Women's Discus in Osaka

MOSCOW, August 29 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Darya Pishchalnikova won Wednesday a silver medal in the Women's Discus Throw at the 2007 IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Osaka, Japan.

The 22-year-old 2006 European Champion took silver with a personal best throw of 65.78 meters (215.81 feet), with Germany's Franka Dietzsch taking the gold with 66.61 meters (218.54 feet).

The bronze went to Yarelis Barrios from Cuba with a throw of 63.90 meters (209.65 feet).
