MOSCOW, August 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's industrial output expanded 7.8% year-on-year in July and 7.7% in January-July, the country's top statistics body said Thursday.
Industrial production growth slowed by 2.7% in July compared with June, the Federal Statistics Service said.
Natural gas output fell 0.3% in January-July to 382 billion cubic meters, while oil production went up 2.8% to 285 million metric tons (2 billion bbls). Iron and steel output expanded 3.4% to 34.7 million metric tons, and electricity production increased 0.8% to 579 billion kWh, the service said.
Car production grew 10.1% in the reporting period to 714,000 vehicles, while TV set production demonstrated the largest growth (55.5%) among consumer goods, the service said.
