MOSCOW, August 3 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Spartak Moscow soccer club will meet Scotland's Celtic in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League to decide who goes through to play in the group stages.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) draw was held Friday in Nyon, Switzerland to decide who would play in the decisive third qualifying round.

Sergei Shavlo, the director general of Spartak, said he was pleased with the draw, but was wary in evaluating his team's chances against last season's Scottish league champions.

"It will be the first meeting between Spartak and the Scottish club. It was a good draw. The team is interesting and plays offensive soccer... We will be preparing as interesting games await us. I estimate our chances as 50 to 50," Shavlo said.

Russia's national nine-time champion Spartak will host Celtic on August 14 or 15 and will play their second away game on August 28 or 29.
