MOSCOW, July 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's anti-monopoly regulator said Thursday it has started checking the appropriateness of prices major oil companies charge for oil products.
"This is all about reasons why prices for gasoline and diesel sold by refining companies have changed," the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service said.
The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service intends to find reasons for price changes between July 20 and 25 and study pricing methods, its press office said.
The anti-monopoly regulator has sent its inquires to Russia's major crude producers LUKoil, Gazprom Neft (the oil producing arm of energy giant Gazprom), Surgutneftegaz, TNK-BP Management, Rosneft and other companies, the press office said.
