MOSCOW, July 23 (RIA Novosti) - Russian-speaking Harry Potter fans will have to wait until November to read the seventh and final installment in the adventures of the boy-magician, a spokesman for the book's Russian publisher said Monday.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will appear only in mid-November. We will, of course do all we can to see that the book appears sooner, but that is the approximate schedule," Aleksei Shekhov said.

He said the book did not yet have an official Russian title, which would be known only at the end of August once the translation was complete. The English-language version was released to unprecedented worldwide excitement July 21.

A total of 1.8 million copies would eventually be printed, Shekhov said. The last book in the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, had an initial run in Russia of 800,000.

A few bookstores in Moscow began selling the original version Friday, quickly running out as fans, who had begun lining up hours ahead of the scheduled midnight release and some of whom could not even read English, snapped them up.

Nor did the relatively high price - 1,000 rubles ($40) - deter all those eager to discover for themselves whether Harry would live or die in the final episode of the phenomenally successful series.

Shekhov said the Russian-language version would cost about 300 rubles ($12).
