WASHINGTON, June 16 (RIA Novosti) - The foreign affairs committees of the U.S. House of Representatives and Russia's State Duma will hold a joint session next week, after a two-year hiatus, the House press service said Saturday.

The session, scheduled for June 21, will for the first time be open to the media, the service said.

U.S. congressmen and Russian deputies will discuss four key groups of subjects: humanitarian problems, including democracy and human rights; outstanding regional conflicts, including Kosovo, Georgia and Moldova; strategic stability, including the CFE Treaty, nonproliferation, and missile defense.

Russian and U.S. law-makers will also discuss trade and economic maters, including energy security.

Similar meetings were held previously in June 2004, in Moscow, and in November 2005, in Washington.
