MOSCOW, June 15 (RIA Novosti) - The chief executive of LUKoil [RTS: LKOH] said at a government commission session Friday that a gas consortium led by energy giant Gazprom [RTS: GAZP] should be established to develop deposits in east Russia.

At its meeting June 15, the government commission for the fuel and energy complex discussed a program to create a single system of gas production, transportation, and supply in East Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential exports to China and the Asia-Pacific region.

"The necessity is ripe in our country to establish a Gazprom-led consortium, so that Gazprom becomes the general operator of a project to develop and put into operation Far-Eastern and East Siberian deposits," Vagit Alekperov said.

At the same time, Andrei Dementyev, deputy industry and energy minister, said the program to develop gas deposits in East Siberia and the Far East would require 2,400 billion rubles (about $92 billion) in investment by 2030.
