TEHRAN, May 30 (RIA Novosti) - Iran's top nuclear negotiator reiterated Wedneday, prior to a meeting in Spain with the EU's foreign policy chief, that Iran plans to continue with its nuclear program.

Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, and the EU's Javier Solana will hold another round of talks on Iran's nuclear dossier in Madrid Thursday. Larijani and Solana last met in Ankara on April 25-26 and there was some progress made at the talks in finding common ground on some issues.

"Suspension is not a solution to Iran's nuclear issue ...Iran cannot accept suspension," Larijani said ahead of the visit. "We have no conditions and we are ready for constructive talks but we will not accept any preconditions. We are ready to remove concerns over Iran's atomic issue."

Iran failed to comply with a 60-day deadline to stop uranium enrichment imposed by the UN Security Council. And, the Islamic country has increased uranium enrichment, saying its nuclear program is aimed exclusively at power generation.

Secretary General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei said last week it was too late to force Tehran to fold up its uranium enrichment plans and proposed introducing inspection measures instead to prevent a further expansion of the Iranian nuclear program.

The United States has threatened Iran with further sanctions.
