MOSCOW, May 17 (RIA Novosti) - Five people were killed in a fire in the Moscow region, which surrounds but does not include the capital, emergency services said Thursday.
The fire broke out at around 4:20 a.m. [0:20 a.m. GMT] in a five-story apartment building in the town of Chekhov, about 60 km to the south of Moscow, and was put out at 6:00 a.m. [2:00 a.m. GMT].
Police are investigating whether a criminal case should be opened into the blaze.
