NAZRAN, May 1 (RIA Novosti) - Two soldiers have been killed when an unidentified explosive device went off in Russia's southern republic of Ingushetia, the republic's Interior Ministry said Tuesday.
"Two contract servicemen died, when they tripped an unidentified explosive device," the ministry said, adding an inquiry into the accident had been launched.
The contract servicemen from a group of federal forces, deployed in neighboring Chechnya, were conducting an operation near the village of Ali-Yurt outside Nazran, Ingushetia's former capital, in the early hours of Tuesday, the ministry said.
