TBILISI, April 15 (RIA Novosti) - Two persons have died and 45 others have been injured after a bus fell into a river in the Martvili district in western Georgia, a spokesman for the Georgian interior ministry said Sunday.
The road accident occurred April 15 at about 2:00 p.m. Moscow time (10:00 a.m. GMT) on the Martvili-Tbilisi highway, presumably, due to failure of the brake system of the Mercedes bus, which drove at a high speed, the spokesman said.
The injured persons, including children, have been taken to the hospital in the city of Kutaisi located some 35 kilometers (21.7 miles) away from the scene of the incident, the spokesman said.
Currently, 14 injured persons are staying in the hospital, one of them in a grave condition, the spokesman said.
