ROSTOV-ON-DON, March 18 (RIA Novosti) - Three people have died and twenty-six others have been injured after a bus capsized in a road accident in southern Russia, the press secretary of the region's fire safety service said Sunday.
The passenger bus on a ride from Volgodonsk to Rostov overturned Sunday near the village of Lagutkino. The Volgodonsk fire safety service received a signal about the accident at 4:26 p.m. Moscow time (1:26 p.m. GMT), the press secretary said.
At the same time, the regional administration's emergencies department said there were forty-three passengers and two drivers in the bus.
"According to the bus driver, a car drove too close to the bus and the driver tried to turn away and started to put on the brakes. The bus hit the roadside and overturned," the department's press office said.
Rescuers are working at the scene of the incident, the press office said.
