ATHENS, March 14 (RIA Novosti) - Greece's prime minister said in a RIA Novosti interview Wednesday that U.S. plans to deploy missile defense elements in Eastern Europe should be decided in the framework of Russia-NATO dialogue.

Konstantinos Karamanlis said the issue involved many countries and added that it should be discussed in an open sincere dialogue with all states participating.

The United States has announced plans to build a radar installation in the Czech Republic and a missile base in Poland in the next five years. The U.S. insists that the European missile shield is designed to counter possible attacks from "rogue states," including Iran and North Korea.
