LONDON, March 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russian-British trade turnover grew 15% in 2006, year-on-year, to some $15 billion, the Russian ambassador in London said Wednesday.

Yury Fedotov said British investment in Russia during the period totaled about $7 billion, which, he said, is also a good indicator.

Fedotov said British Secretary of State for Trade and Industry Alistair Darling's visit to Moscow in February accompanied by a British business delegation was very important.

Following a Moscow meeting February 7, Russia's Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said bilateral trade was experiencing strong growth.

Kudrin also told journalists then: "In my view, our relations are very cordial, and are developing."

The British Department of Trade and Industry said John Stuttard, Lord Mayor of the City of London, will visit Moscow and St. Petersburg April 1-5.
