NOVOSIBIRSK, February 27 (RIA Novosti) - A court in a Siberian city ruled Tuesday that S7 Airlines (former Sibir) pay 200,000 rubles ($7,640) in compensation to a relative of one of 124 victims in the summer aircraft crash in Irkutsk.

The court in Ob partially upheld the suit filed by Lyudmila Zozulina who requested 1 million rubles ($38,200) compensation for moral damage caused by the loss of her sister in July 2006, when an Airbus A310 smashed into a building and burst into flames after skidding off the runway on landing at the airport in southeast Siberia.

Originally Zozulina had demanded 3 million rubles ($114,600) from S7, which leased the plane.

The court in Ob, where the airline is registered, is also examining a compensation suit from Lyubov Slastina, who lost her mother and 17-year-old sister.

The owner of the demolished building has withdrawn his suit after the air company promised to pay him 176,000 rubles ($6,700) for the lost property.

Some relatives of the victims and survivors are also claiming compensation, via a New York court, from the U.S.-based Airbus Leasing company, which owned the plane.

An aviation commission had found that the crew was to blame for the tragedy. However, S7 said the conclusion did not address the state of the runway in Irkutsk, criticized by many pilots, and the poor weather conditions.
