A seven-year old boy was laughing and talking with friends during class when the teacher came up to him and threatened to cut his tongue off if he didn't calm down.
The boy didn't obey, and the teacher told him to open his mouth and stick out his tongue, which she then cut with a pair of scissors.
The teacher insisted it was a joke, and that any injury was entirely the child's fault for having stuck his tongue out too close to the scissors.
Local police have opened a criminal case against the teacher, and she has been fired from the school.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he received five stitches.
The boy later claimed the teacher warned him not to tell his parents and to pretend the accident was his own fault.
