KEMEROVO, February 25 (RIA Novosti) - One miner has died and another is missing in a rock collapse at a coal mine in the Kemerovo Region in southwestern Siberia, the press office of the regional administration said Sunday.
The rock collapsed at 11:45 a.m. local time (4:45 a.m. GMT) Sunday at the Dzerzhinsky mine in the city of Prokopyevsk, the press office said.
It was earlier reported that four miners were buried beneath the rocks but three of them managed to come to the surface on their own.
Rescuers are continuing to search for one more miner who is believed to be beneath the rocks, the press office said.
