MOSCOW, February 21 (RIA Novosti) - Natural gas production in Russia fell by 0.1% in January 2007 year-on-year reaching 60.7 billion cu m, the federal statistics service said Wednesday.

Gas production for gas and gas condensate deposits stood at 56.6 billion cu m, down 0.7% year-on-year, while oil output, including authorities' gas condensate fields, grew by 3.9% to 41.4 million metric tons (some 310 million barrels).

The service said earlier oil output in Russia increased 2.1%, year-on-year, in 2006, to 480 million metric tons (3.5 billion barrels). The service said oil production grew 3.8%, month-on-month, in December 2006, to 41.4 million metric tons (303.5 million barrels).

Oil accounted for 33.9% of Russian exports, and for 52% of the exports of fuel and energy products in 2006 compared with 34.7% and 54.2%, respectively, a year earlier, the service said.

The Industry and Energy Ministry said Tuesday that oil output grew by 4.4% and natural gas production by 0.5% in January 2007 year-on-year.
