"Trade turnover increased 28.3% on 2005, including 25.4% to $64.7 billion with the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and 28.7% to $371.4 billion with other countries," the service said.

CIS countries that include former Soviet republics, except the Baltic States, accounted for 14.8%, and other countries for 85.2% of Russia's foreign trade in 2006, the service said.

"The European Union remains Russia's largest economic partner. In 2006, it accounted for 53.2% of Russia's commodity turnover," the service said.
