TASHKENT, December 27 (RIA Novosti) - Energy-rich Uzbekistan will supply 700 million cubic meters of natural gas to its Central Asian neighbor Tajikistan in 2007, the country's gas transport monopoly said Wednesday.
Uzbekistan and Tajikistan signed December 27 an agreement on natural gas supplies in 2007.
"Fuel will be supplied to Tajikistan from January 1, 2007 at $100 per 1,000 cubic meters. Similar agreements on natural gas deliveries have been signed with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan," Uztransgaz said.
Uzbekistan's estimated natural gas reserves make up 5.9 trillion cubic meters. The country currently produces 60 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually.
