ROSTOV-ON-DON, December 24 (RIA Novosti) - Strong winds have disrupted electricity supply in Russia's several southern districts that are home to some 25,000 people, the regional emergencies service said Sunday.

"Last night, strong winds ruptured an electric power transmission line, disrupting electricity supply to some 20,000 people in the Stavropol Territory and some 5,000 people in the mountainous districts of the Republic of Karachayevo-Cherkessia," the service said.

Electricity supply is expected to be restored Sunday afternoon, the service said.
