MOSCOW, December 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's prosecutor general said Tuesday he is convinced the U.K. will eventually extradite fugitive businessman Boris Berezovsky and Chechen separatist emissary Akhmed Zakayev.

"The British side will sooner or later extradite Berezovsky and Zakayev," Yury Chaika told journalists.

Chaika said not only Russia will demand Berezovsky's extradition. "There are cases in France and Switzerland, where he is laundering money, and our colleagues work there. That's why we know it," he said.

Russia has been seeking the extradition of Akhmed Zakayev, the emissary of Chechen separatists who has been charged with terrorism and inciting ethnic hatred in Russia, and who was granted political refugee status in the U.K., and tycoon Boris Berezovsky, who also lives in the country as political emigre but faces fraud charges in Russia.

The U.K. is also home to more than a dozen suspects wanted in Russia in connection with the long-running case around embattled oil company Yukos, including a company former vice president, Alexander Temerko, and former employees Natalia Chernyshova and Dmitry Maruyev, also charged with fraud.

U.K. courts have repeatedly rejected Russia's extradition requests in all cases.

Russia's former top prosecutor, Vladimir Ustinov, stepped down in June to be replaced by the then-justice minister, Yury Chaika.
