SAMARA, December 4 (RIA Novosti) - The head of Avtovazenergo, a subsidiary of Russia's leading carmaker AvtoVaz [RTS: AVAZ], was killed in the Volga city of Samara Monday, local police said.
A police spokesman said that killers shot at Alexander Samoilenko's Lexus from an assault rifle and escaped, later torching their car in a neighboring yard.
He also said Samoilenko's driver was hospitalized with wounds.
Samoilenko, who earlier was general director of the company Itera-Samara, was recently appointed head of Avtovazenergo, established in late November to manage the carmaker's electricity facilities.
