PERM, December 3 (RIA Novosti) - Voter turnout at Sunday's elections to the regional legislature in the Perm Territory in Russia's Urals has passed the required threshold, the local electoral commission said.

As of 16:00 local time (11:00 a.m. GMT), about 26.7% of registered voters had come to the polls, crossing the electoral threshold of 25%, the commission said.

Perm Territory residents are electing 60 deputies to the regional legislature, with 30 deputies being elected in single-seat constituencies and 30 deputies from party lists, the commission said.

The Perm Territory was formed from the Perm Region and the Komi-Permyak Autonomous Area, comprising more than 160,000 square kilometers, uniting a population of about 3 million, on December 1, 2005.

The elections require 25% of the voters to come to the polling stations to validate the polls. The parties have to clear the 7% threshold, the commission said.
