IZHEVSK, November 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russian energy giant Gazprom [RTS: GAZP] could receive up to 200 billion rubles ($7.5 billion) in extra revenues this year, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said Saturday.

"[Gazprom's] additional revenues may reach 200 billion rubles ($7.5 billion)," Kudrin told a news conference.

He proposed that the natural gas monopoly, benefiting from high energy prices and rising demand, should spend some of its windfall proceeds on servicing and repaying the nation's foreign debt. This will help reduce domestic money supply and keep the inflation rate down.
